Purchasing laptop batteries may be a confusing ordeal for some people. Even though your laptop is plugged in at home, there are times when it needs to run on batteries. Examples of these times include if you’re sitting in your backyard, waiting at the airport or while you are on vacation. In order to purchase the laptop battery, you need to know the brand and model of your laptop. For example, you may have a Sony laptop so you know that you need a Sony battery, but you need to know the exact model number to make the process quicker. You can find the model number printed on the laptop.

You should also know the model number of your battery. If you cannot locate the model number of your laptop, the battery will have a model number. This can sometimes be quicker than trying to find the model number of your laptop. There are several battery shops online that contain the search box where you can input the model number for your battery and it will match it to a new identical battery. Some battery stores online might also have what is called factory OEM batteries. Factory OEM batteries are batteries that are compatible with your laptop at a more affordable price. For instance, if you have a Dell laptop, Dell laptop batteries may be a bit costly so a compatible battery can be cheaper. After you know the type of battery that you are looking for, you can look online to purchase the correct battery for your laptop. Many online websites will have a whole section that just has laptop batteries. These are often listed by name brand.
